After months of anticipation, we are excited to announce that the next generation of the MyCloudIT platform has entered into private preview this week, running through early Q1. So what’s new with MyCloudIT? To better understand the solution and future we envision, here’s a bit of background on our journey to date…
Where MyCloudIT Started
The original MyCloudIT platform, first released in 2015, was developed to help IT administrators move small to medium-sized businesses to the cloud. By automating the delivery of Remote Desktops and Remote Apps in Microsoft Azure, MyCloudIT has helped successfully move hundreds of organizations from on-premises IT networks to the cloud. During this time, our dedicated Customer Success team has provided unparalleled support and expertise to help ensure the success of every environment. As we listened to our customer's new challenges in the cloud, we continued to hear recurring themes: lack of visibility, lack of control, and difficulty analyzing cost, consumption, security, and performance metrics. We have also found that customers find it difficult to continually adopt newer cloud offerings and programs (i.e. new VM sizes, Reserved Instances) even though they are better, faster, and cheaper in many cases. Sometimes this is due to lack of awareness, and other times it’s the old “if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it” mentality. Either way, some improvements, and efficiencies can be easily adopted, yet go unrealized. It’s not until there is an issue or budget review that we end up getting involved with better cloud management and optimization. Which brings us to…
Where MyCloudIT is Going
As a result of years of feedback from customers and peers across the industry, we started working on the next generation of MyCloudIT. The future of MyCloudIT will deliver a multi-tenant management platform that not only helps customers move to the cloud (more on that below) but also streamlines management and optimization. Lack of awareness is eliminated by highlighting recommendations for security, cost, and performance and lack of adoption is mitigated by providing automated actions. And if there is no automated remediation, our ticketing integration allows for cross-team collaboration, task management, and escalation requests to our dedicated team of Cloud Experts. Deployment, Management, Optimization, and Support – multi-tenant, and all from a single pane of glass.
And we haven’t stopped innovating on the cloud workspaces front. Now that Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) is finally in GA (General Availability), we will offer comprehensive deployment and management capabilities for this exciting new solution.
